One of the oldest and also a magnificent structure, Rinpung Dzong is among the best architectural structures ever created. This Dzong or fort has towering walls and was built in the 16th Century and it was also popular as the Heap of Jewels. Rinpung Dzong is among the best tourist places to visit in Bhutan and a classic example of Bhutanese architecture and deep rooted traditions. Every year there is an annual festival of tshechu and it is held in Rinpung Dzong and it starts from the eleventh day to the fifteenth day and the day is marked in Bhutan’s lunar calendar.
It is among the popular tourist places in the west from the Paro valley and is famous for its unending charm and beauty. Located at an altitude of 13,000 feet, Chele La Pass is among the most magnificent pass which falls en route to the Haa Valley. On a nice and clear day, you can experience the Jomolhari mountain from here and the adjacent peaks from the northwest side and can view the valleys of Haa and Paro as well. To reach this place you have to take one and a half hour drive from the valley floor of Paro.
Bhutan is quite popular for its own version of forts which are also known as the Dzongs. The Punakha Dzong is another splendid example of architectural excellence and a great iconic heritage building. The Punakha Dzong is situated on the 1,200 meters and on this height no one ever suffers from height sickness or oxygen shortage. The Dzong speaks volumes about the beautiful culture and traditions of the Buddhist kingdom and the location is also too beautiful to be missed out while in Bhutan. Punakha is the winter capital of this country and the head religious monks of Bhutan spend the winter in this popular Dzong.
Popularly known as the Tiger’s Nest, it is one of the most popular point of Bhutan and the first place to visit for every Traveler. It is located in Paro and is engulfed with many historic myths behind its creation. The sacred monastery of Guru Rinpoche is a popular pilgrimage point and is an easy trek, providing the panoramic views of the Paro valley. It is believed that Guru Rinpoche also considered as the second Buddha rode to this place on a white tigress’s back and meditated to suppress the evil entities or demons.
Phobjikha is a small town in the central part of Bhutan which is among the most beautiful places in the whole of Bhutan, that you can never miss. Beautified by valleys, mountains, lush greenery, Phobjikha is a paradise which has been globally popular for its unending beauty. Its beautiful landscapes and passes is the best place for a day’s hike will take you through the woods and the green. Phobjikha valley is about 3000-meter elevation and the place is in the shape of a bowl, and it’s on the western slopes of the mountains.
